K+S Potash Canada makes $100,000 donation to MJHF Capital Equipment Campaign

K+S Potash Canada is committed to the health of children in the Five Hills Health Region. The Saskatchewan-based company is making a significant contribution to the Paediatric Family Area in the new Moose Jaw Regional Hospital with a $100,000 donation to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation’s (MJHF) Capital Equipment Campaign.

Eric Cline, Vice-President of Land and Sustainable Development with K+S Potash Canada, presented MJHF Board member Susan Hanna with the $100,000 donation today.

“This is a very generous donation by K+S Potash Canada to the Capital Equipment Campaign, as well as families throughout the Five Hills Health Region,” Hanna said. “K+S is a great and enthusiastic supporter of the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, today’s donation further demonstrates their commitment to healthcare at our new regional hospital and our campaign to equip it.  This generous gift will help provide a caring and comfortable environment for children and their families during their stay at the new Moose Jaw Regional Hospital.

Proceeds from the $8-million Capital Equipment Campaign will help equip the new hospital with state-of-the-art equipment, including the first MRI in Saskatchewan located outside of Regina and Saskatoon. Campaign funds will also be used to enhance patient care through the purchase of digital imaging equipment, expanded surgical facilities, dedicated private patient rooms, and enhanced labour and delivery services. It will be Saskatchewan’s newest and most innovative hospital.

“With our Legacy Project mine site a short drive away, Moose Jaw and surrounding communities have inevitably become an integral part of our project,” Cline said. “We know the significance of the new Moose Jaw hospital to this community and to all of the residents of the Five Hills Health Region. We are proud to announce our support of this innovative addition to our province’s healthcare system.”

Every donation to the Capital Equipment Campaign makes a difference, regardless of the size. A gift of $2,500 or more will be recognized with a special plaque on the donor wall in the main lobby of the new regional hospital. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help equip the hospital of tomorrow – today and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
