Empowering Youth Through Culture and Coding

The First Nations Family STEM program is offered by Nanan STEM Academy, a Youth+Us community partner. The Nanan Academy offers a range of courses from basic computer coding to advanced robotics, allowing students to explore their interests while developing technical skills.

Students come away with plenty of soft skills as well, including critical thinking, collaboration, leadership and cultural competence. Treyton, a sixth-grader from Regina, found himself thriving in the program, thanks to a supportive and creative environment. Treyton has always been a creative at heart and he keeps busy with a variety of creative hobbies and interests.
