Reporting to the Sr. HR Business Partner, the HR Business Partner will strategically partner with leaders to provide people solutions to business problems. The HR Business Partner works closely with leaders to diagnose needs and increase organizational effectiveness in areas such as employee engagement, leader effectiveness, organizational design, learning needs/opportunities, recruitment, succession planning and change management. The HR Business Partner develops a deep understanding of the business to deliver impactful people approaches that achieve organizational objectives and translate strategy into action. The role collaborates with the People & Communications team including People Services and COEs to deliver high impact programs that drive the business and people strategies. The HR Business Partner actively integrates the P&C vision into their key responsibilities, focusing efforts on continuous improvement, delivering an elevated employee experience, and innovative and engaging programs that align to KSPC’s strategic direction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partnering with client group leaders in planning for the people elements of the business strategy such as capacity, capability and risk that will drive high performance
Providing coaching and influencing strategic people priorities, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness and change management
Delivering innovative and proactive human resources strategy for ensuring a capable and diverse workforce now and into the future
Partnering with business leaders to implement and evaluate effective and optimized structures that support the business strategy
Investigating and delivering innovative ways to proactively utilize a wide range of HR data to identify themes/trends and recommend effective strategies to solve problems and meet business needs
Exploring the latest HR trends and building internal team knowledge and capabilities
Strategically partnering with leaders to build a collaborative work culture that values employees and builds overall commitment and performance
Providing guidance and support to leaders at all levels in the organization regarding talent management including acquisition, organizational design, change management, workforce planning, and total rewards to drive organizational effectiveness, positive employee experience, and culture
Facilitating performance management including annual rating calibration, management of low performers, development plans
Partnering with leaders to solve complex employee relations issues
Participating in organizational and P&C projects and committees to provide people and strategy perspective, as needed
Partnering with the broader P&C team to provide business context for the design, development, and implementation of talent-related programs such as Strategic Workforce Planning and related actions, and employee engagement

Bachelor’s degree in human resources
CPHR or other related professional certifications an asset
Minimum of 8 years of Human Resources experience working in operations functions an asset
Proven ability to recognize the long-term impacts and understand what factors will influence performance in an insightful way
Comfortable with ambiguity and being a part of strategy discussions
Experience in working with business leaders in a consultative capacity
Progressive experience in coaching leaders, managers, and employees
Continuous improvement mindset
Solid understanding of the regulatory environment including all employment and human rights legislation
Experience in HR program implementation, communication strategies, and change management
Strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view
Employment is subject to successfully completing KSPC’s pre-employment checks which may include criminal record check, education verification, functional fitness evaluation and drug & alcohol testing.
This is approximately a 15-month term position.
